Drug Uses
Cipro is used for healing of bacterial infections. It may also be used to prevent or slow anthrax after exposure.
How Taken
Use Cipro with a full glass of clear water as recommended by your doctor. Use Cipro with or without a meal. It is suggested to drink extra fluids while taking Cipro. If you also take any products containing magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, or zinc (eg, vitamins/minerals, antacids), didanosine, sucralfate, or bismuth subsalicylate, do not take them within six hours before or two hours after taking Cipro. To clear up your infection completely, take Cipro for the full course of treatment. Keep taking it even if you feel better in several days.
Additional Information
Cipro may cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness. These effects can worsen if Cipro is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Use Cipro with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you respond to this drug. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, consult your physician. This drug should be used only by the patient for whom it has been suggested. Don't take less or more or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
