Drug Uses
Cipro is used for healing of bacterial infections. It can also be used to prevent or slow anthrax after exposure.
How Taken
Use Cipro with a full glass of clear water as determined by your physician. Use Cipro with or without a meal. It is advised to drink extra fluids while taking Cipro. If you also take any products containing magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, or zinc (eg, vitamins/minerals, antacids), didanosine, sucralfate, or bismuth subsalicylate, don't take them within six hours before or 2 hours after taking Cipro. To clear up your infection completely, take Cipro for the full course of healing. Keep taking it even if you feel better in a few days.
More Information
Cipro can cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness. These effects can worsen if Cipro is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Cipro with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you respond to this drug. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, call your physician. This medicine should be used only by the patient for whom it has been advised. Don't take less or more or take it more often than suggested by your physician.
