Drug Uses
Cipro is used for treatment of bacterial infections. It may also be used to prevent or slow anthrax after exposure.
How Taken
Use Cipro with a full glass of water as recommended by your doctor. Use Cipro with or without a meal. It is recommended to drink extra fluids while taking Cipro. If you also take any products containing magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, or zinc (eg, vitamins/minerals, antacids), didanosine, sucralfate, or bismuth subsalicylate, don't take them within 6 hours before or two hours after taking Cipro. To clear up your infection completely, take Cipro for the full course of treatment. Keep taking it even if you feel better in several days.
More Information
Cipro may cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness. These effects may worsen if Cipro is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Take Cipro with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this pill. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, ask your doctor. This product should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than recommended by your physician.
