Drug Uses
Furosemide is used for healing of fluid build-up and swelling caused by congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or kidney disease. It is also used in combination with other medicines to cure fluid build-up in the lungs. Itmay also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How Taken
Use Furosemide as directed by your physician. To avoid stomach upset take Furosemide with a meal. Furosemide can increase the amount of urine or cause you to urinate more often when you first start taking it. To keep this from disturbing your sleep, try to take your dose before 6 pm (18:00).
Additional Information
Furosemide can cause dizziness. These effects can worsen if Furosemide is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Furosemide with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this product. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, talk to your physician. Furosemide should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Don't take less or more or take it more often than directed by your doctor.
