Drug Uses
Atarax is used for relief of anxiety and stress caused by psychoneurosis and organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. It may be used for other situations as prescribed by your doctor.
How Taken
Atarax comes in pills to take in by mouth. The usual daily dose for adults is 50-100 mg. Children over 6 years should take Atarax 50-100mg every day in parted doses. Daily dose for children under 6 years of age is 50mg divided into several doses.
More Information
Atarax can cause giddiness. These effects can worsen if Atarax is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Use Atarax with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you respond to this drug. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, visit your doctor. Atarax should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Don't take less or more or take it more often than directed by your physician.
